@tourismnanaimo has launched its new Sport Hosting Toolkit, a practical online hub designed to help event rights holders and organizers bring tournaments and championships to Nanaimo, while supporting local clubs to host with confidence. The launch advances Tourism Nanaimo’s long-term goal to become a premier hosting destination by 2030.

Built on the belief that sport starts at home, the toolkit brings Nanaimo’s Sport Hosting Program into one clear place and outlines Tourism Nanaimo’s complimentary planning support, including guidance on venues, facilities, and accommodations, plus help with site visits, travel and group options, sustainability planning, and bid packages and RFPs.

@kismetwines has announced that Head Winemaker @manpreetdhaliwal has been named to the @bcbusiness_mag 30 Under 30 Class of 2026, recognizing B.C.’s emerging leaders and changemakers. To mark the honour, Kismet will host a Red Carpet Winemaker Dinner on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 6:00pm, featuring a seated multi-course dinner from Manzil Restaurant with paired wines, a red carpet photo opportunity, and a signed bottle for each guest.

The announcement lands ahead of International Women’s Day alongside a new CBC feature on the Dhaliwal sisters and how Kismet is blending B.C. winemaking with Punjabi culture, hosted by Surrey-based food storyteller @rajthandhi.

Guests are invited to step inside a cinematic, projection-based exhibition that surrounds visitors with art, sound, and storytelling inspired by the life and work of Vincent van Gogh.

This Nanaimo presentation has been newly scaled to a 10,000 sq. ft. installation and custom-installed for the venue, made possible through a local partnership between the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, Port Theatre, Nanaimo Museum, and Tourism Nanaimo, with production by Paquin Entertainment Group.

Vancouver Cocktail Week, but make it dinner.

For one night only, Top Chef Canada Season 10 runner-up @chef.dezlo is joining @goodthief.ca and Michelin Bib Gourmand chef Jonathan Lee for a Fenjiu-inspired pop-up dinner built around the “Culinary Art of Light Aroma Baijiu.”

Fenjiu is a historic, premium baijiu (Chinese white spirit) from Shanxi with 6,000+ years of heritage. It’s best known for its qingxiang (light aroma) style, clean, lightly sweet, floral, and gently herbaceous, which makes it ideal for food pairings.

Highlights include Uni and Ikura Brioche Toasts; Drunken Chicken Salad; Prosperity Lamb Dumplings; Hen of the Woods Tempura; Fraser Valley Dry-Aged Duck with Scallion Pancakes and Sweet Plum and Hoisin Jus; Abalone, Lobster, and BC Scallops Crispy Noodles; and an Almond Silken Tofu Panna Cotta to finish.

He’s a Vancouver-based Australian Labradoodle with a travel schedule that rivals most PR pros, joining for client site visits and “field work” across Whistler, the Okanagan, the Cariboo, and Kamloops.

As CTO, Archie specializes in client comfort, brainstorming walks, and enforcing screen breaks with total authority. Signature moves include sitting on feet for pets and swatting the treat bag to confirm “payment” after introductions are complete.

Remote most days, available by appointment, allergic-friendly meetings available.

Unofficial certifications: advanced snack negotiation, paw-press media relations, and break enforcement, Level I.

Equal parts strategist and operator, I build the plan and execute it, from messaging and press materials to partnerships, media hosting logistics, and reporting leaders can actually use.
